I’ve been sick, what feels like forever, and what a better way to warm up with a cup of tea. Being sick recently made me realize how much David’s Tea I have in my cupboards. I was digging for days with a cold and realizing how many containers I had left, some half full, some nearly empty and some I wished I still had stashed away. I sometimes I think a tea will be awesome based on how it smells then I have a cup or two and dislike it. The chocolate orange, for example, smells really good, and you imagine it would taste the same but it doesn’t do it for me. So here are some of my favorite loose leaf tea’s from David’s Tea.
I don’t know what else to say, other then it turns you tea pink people! There is beet root in the tea that makes the tea turn pink, I was so confused the first time I made it. Really though this was the first tea I tried when I first got into loose leaf tea that I really liked, it had a unique flavor to it and wasn’t bitter or too overpowering. The nutty taste is somewhat earthy and with the apple it actually makes it sweet and it works really well together.
I love chai tea’s, I haven’t tried all the ones at David’s Tea but so far this one is my favorite. It has that pumpkin spice taste mixed with the chai and it almost gives off a caramel smell. I wayyy prefer this to the Pumpkin Spice Latte right now. Way less calories too, then the SPL. I don’t want to start a rant on the SPL at Starbucks, but even with its ‘half sweet’ there is just so much syrup in that latte it feels like I’m drinking chunks of cinnamon covered with syrup. It’s the only latte that ‘half sweet’ does nothing to make it any less sweet.
I got this as a sample tea and it really was a perfect relaxing tea, I should go buy a tin right now for winter. It almost feels like you’re drinking a white green tea combo, if that even makes any sense. They have a candle for this tea, that would definitely smell delicious.
Butter Rum Tea
I love anything to do with rum, and this tea has a ‘winter holiday’ vibe going that makes you just feel good. Just like putting rum in your black tea… but less boozy. It has coconut, vanilla, and rum, three of my favorite things in a beverage. I read the description on the label and it says ‘indulge your inner pirate’ which only made me like it more.
I usually don’t like the fruity tea’s, but this one was an exception. I always think a fruit tea will be good, but I try it and I feel so disappointed from the sour taste. I remember loving a blueberry tea Tim Hortons used to carry, but sadly I haven’t seen any in stock, I think they got rid of it. It was so good! I saw this tea and had high hopes, and was not disappointed. It tastes how it smells, like blueberry jam, for real.
What are your favorite teas? Any recommendations?
